Mr. Amabiles pastel portraits embrace the essence of the
individual with flattering detail and richness of color.
The
artist Amabile developed a love for painting pastel portraits
early in life. Anyone visiting had to sit for a pastel portrait.
Amabiles self taught methods of portraiture and the art
of pastel painting was fun as well as key in the early development
of his skills in portraiture and figure drawing. When no
model was available Amabile produced still life paintings
and landscapes. For three years Mr. Amabile studied under
and was assistant to the renound pastelist and portrait
artist Daniel Greene N.A.. While assisting and studying
under Daniel Greene, Amabile developed further in the art
of pastel as well as oil painting and portraiture.
Today
Anthony Amabile lives at his studio in western Pennsylvannia.
